Audio: Share the song that will get you dancing...every time!
Submitted by foxsydee.
I miss Korea...oh the dancing that I did... :' (
Found this by chance...kinda funny (well I thought so, but when I showed my hubby, he said, "What's so funny about that?").
I'm so happy to have stumbled across this artist...check out her work here (you can listen to bits & pieces of songs from her album). I really like "flowersandfireflies."
Thanks to Naghmeh from D and G Photography for responding to my enquiry so quickly!
What do you absolutely refuse to eat?
Food that moves. Even before I became a vegetarian, this was more than I could stomach. When I was in Korea, I'll never forget my first boss taking the staff out for lunch at a Japanese restaurant. I'm not sure if it was live octopus tentacles, but there was a plate of little moving white things on the table. I took one look at it and had to force myself not to look back. I had a conversation with my boss that went something like this:
Would you like some?
No thanks.
But it's really fresh.
Yes, it's moving! Can't get much fresher than that.
Hope I didn't sound rude; I think I was just dumbfounded at the idea of eating moving food. I ended up going out for lunch with my roommate after this lunch!
Just watched my first (and the first) episode of Lost...I can see how this show could become addictive. I'll have to control myself. : )
Nice to be able to watch these episodes for free thanks to http://www.pandora.tv/
I've got to say, Fido has impressed me so far with their customer service. The first time we had a problem, it was because our PIN didn't print on our receipt when we purchased the prepaid phone card (at Future Shop). It was only when my hubby went to add the value of the card to his account that we realized the PIN was missing and unfortunately, Future Shop was closed by then. Because we couldn't add the value of the card to his account on time, the balance (which had been in the neighbourhood of $20) was lost. We were not happy campers. The next day, I called FS and got nowhere. Next, on the recommendation of the person I talked to at FS, I called Fido (although I really didn't think they'd be able to do anything since they weren't to blame). The person there was so nice and helpful; he tried to find the PIN based on the reference number which had gotten printed on our receipt. No luck, so he told us to go to FS and he also gave me his extension number and name, just in case. Into FS we went. There, the customer service worker said she would give us another $10 card (in place of the one we had bought that was missing the PIN) but 'couldn't do anything' about the fact that we had lost $$$ in the process. Nice. I can't remember now if I told her to call Fido or if she thought of it herself, but anyhow, we ended up on the phone to Fido (I was resolved to go nowhere till I had the balance restored or two $10 cards from FS). After explaining what had happened, Fido restored the balance! It still surprises me a little since Future Shop was the one that messed up...what also surprises me is that FS wasn't prepared to make amends for a mistake that was clearly their fault.
Experience #2--Beware. You can now press *225 + the talk button to check the expiration date of your time. Catch is, it says something like "07-15-07" and then a little further down, "00:01am"...BUT if you check your account online, it says something like "07-14-07" and then "11:59pm." Seeing as how I was used to the online way (which is far more reasonable in my mind), I saw the date on my phone and refilled on that date, not even noticing the ridiculous fact that you have to do it on that date, but no more than 59 seconds into the day. Like that is going to happen. Long story short, I lost my balance, but they were kind enough to restore it, thank goodness. Whoever tacked on a day and changed the time to 00:01am is either an idiot or very very sly. I'm hoping they're just an idiot.
Someone sure has an imagination! I found this at http://dee85.vox.com/library/post/an-interesting-story.html

So silly...
I just found out today that Brock University only mails out tuition bills a month after tuition is due and they charge a $9 service charge the day after the bill is mailed out. Here's what they had to say for themselves:
The $9 charge on your statement is an interest charge for late
payment. Spring courses were due on April 27th. Please note that
statements are not mailed out on a monthly basis, and students are
responsible for their account even if no statement is received. You
can always check your information by going to the Brock web-site, go
to student self-serve and then click on your finance history.
How convenient for them. Thank goodness other businesses don't operate this way. The thing that really irks me is that it didn't used to be that way; used to be that the tuition bill came, I paid it, and all was well. You'd think they were going broke or something the way they gouge us. Sheesh.
Thought I'd plug a great online bookstore I recently discovered: http://www.dustjacket.ca/. I found a hard-to-find title there that was in excellent (like new) condition; my book arrived super fast to boot! This place is definitely worth a look if you're looking for something you can't find at the bookstore. (My only complaint is that I was charged $7.50 US for shipping that actually cost $2.55 CA despite the fact that they say on their website that they "try to keep shipping costs at the price of postage." What's with that? Fine to tack a little on for the padded envelope, but come on-$4.95? That's a little much.)
